PE and Sports Grant

The Government provides additional sport and PE funding through the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) for schools to make improvements in the provision of PE and sport for students of primary age so that they develop healthy lifestyles.

This funding is to benefit primary school aged students.

Meadows School's allocation for the 2020-21 academic year is:
 
£15,000 which is received in several parts during the academic year
 
It is intended to be spent on:
  • Additional equipment to assist with student co-ordination, motor skill development and development of abilities
  • Personal trainer group sessions - agility and fitness
  • An interactive wall feature in the main hall at the Primary campus

Meadows School's allocation for the 2019-20 academic year was:

£10,000

This was spent on:

  • Additional equipment to assist with student co-ordination, motor skill development and development of abilities
  • Trampolining
  • Roller blades
  • Swimming instructor training
  • Cycling - including Bikeability training and bike hire at a local Pinetum
  • Yoga mats
  • Personal trainer group sessions - agility and fitness
  • Horse riding lessons in the Ashdown Forest
  • Ice-skating
