Meadows School is open from Monday to Friday during term time.

The first day of every new term (after a school holiday) begins at 11am.

Secondary Site

Pupils are expected to be at school by 9am.

Most pupils come to school by taxi, which will drop you off at the main entrance. When you arrive, you can go to the Breakfast Club to enjoy something to eat before lessons begin.

Lessons start at 9:00 and finish at 15:05. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes, and you’ll have time for brain and movement breaks when you need them. On Fridays, the school day at the senior site ends earlier, at 13:45 and 13:30 at the junior site.

Your timetable will vary depending on your year group and the day of the week.

Years 7, 8 and 9 have enrichment on a Tuesday afternoon.

Years 10 and 11 have enrichment on a Thursday afternoon.

Lunch times

Lunch is served in the main school dining room. There is always a main meal and a vegetarian option, as well as jacket potatoes and salads. For dessert, you can choose a pudding, yoghurt, or fruit. If you prefer, you are welcome to bring a packed lunch from home. After lunch, you can take part in a range of lunchtime activities that are organised for you.

Assembly times

Pupils are expected to attend a daily celebration assembly, usually held at the end of the school day. This is a time to share achievements and give special mentions for things pupils have done well.

Leaving the school site

After assembly, pupils go straight to their taxis, so everyone can leave the site promptly and safely. Staff are on hand to help and make sure pupils leave the site calmly.

16+ Site

At our 16+ centre there is a different kind of routine. Your timetable is built around the learning pathway you are on. There is the opportunity to attend a local college or other learning centre where you will be supported by Meadows School staff as much or as little as you need.

We offer courses in many subject areas, including construction, animal handling, childcare and many more.

In terms of on-site learning, we cover English and Maths, Outdoor Adventure activities, home cooking skills and many more.
