PSHCE
At Meadows, PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education), helps pupils develop the knowledge, understanding and practical skills needed to make informed decisions, build positive relationships and become increasingly confident and independent. We aim to equip pupils with essential life skills that support their wellbeing and prepare them for adulthood.
From Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 5, learning is adapted to pupils' individual needs, abilities and stages of development. Our curriculum covers three key areas: Health and Wellbeing, Relationships, and Living in the Wider World. Pupils explore physical and emotional health, healthy relationships, consent and personal boundaries, personal safety, online safety, respect, diversity, rights and responsibilities.
As pupils progress, greater emphasis is placed on financial literacy, decision-making, personal responsibility and preparation for adult life. Through discussion, practical activities and real-life scenarios, pupils are encouraged to express their views, respect different perspectives and apply their learning to everyday situations.
Our aim is to empower pupils to make positive choices, participate in their communities and approach their futures with greater confidence and independence.
