“Chilling” Insights from Stocked Entrepreneur Sam

Careers Week

During Careers Week at Meadows School, students were inspired by Sam from Stocked, who shared the story of growing a business from a residential kitchen to a thriving London-based food enterprise.

Sam recounted his experience filming for Dragon’s Den, explaining how appearing on the show gave massive brand exposure even before the business fully launched. He talked about receiving an investment offer from Steven Bartlett and the practical steps of starting in a home kitchen with a freezer, later moving to commercial cooking premises, managing distribution, and, of course, cutting countless onions for meals sold.

The session highlighted how entrepreneurship combines creativity, hard work, and media savvy, showing students how opportunities like Dragon’s Den can accelerate a business while building a brand.

It was an energising and eye-opening session. Thank you, Sam, for sharing your journey and inspiring the next generation of food entrepreneurs—your insights truly left a lasting impression on our students!
