As part of Careers Week at Meadows School, students enjoyed an exciting and interactive session with Marcus Baker, a train driver on the Thameslink lines, who shared insights into his career and daily work.

Marcus explained the application stages for becoming a train driver, including the required tests, skills, and safety knowledge. He also talked about timetables, shift work, and the responsibilities involved in keeping passengers safe and trains running smoothly.

A highlight of the session was when students had the chance to try a train driving simulator, giving them a hands-on experience of what it’s like to operate a train and manage real-world challenges on the tracks.
